Hi

As always, I'm after a bit of help....... the bay window on the front of our house has stone ‘cornering’ on the angled sections at the front. As can be seen from the attached pics, it looks like the stone has been painted with something in the past that has then caused it to break down in places, leaving a right mess  . I’m in a bit of a dilemma as to what to do ;- I spoke to a builder who said, ooooh, tricky job that...... you’d need to take them out but that would involve jacking up the bay etc, so basically leave well alone.

The other advice was to fill them with exterior Tetrion, and then paint over but I’m a bit reluctant to do that if that’s what’s caused them to go like that in the first place!

I’m not sure if this should really be a building or decoration issue but thought I’d start with the decoration forum to get some views.

As always, any advice would be much appreciated.

I'm not really sure at this time as to whether we could offer you any advice at the moment, if you have some form of structual damage the application of Tetrion is not really going to cure your problem. I think that the Builders forum would be a good start, and offer your problem in detail so the guys on there can try and help you.

Can't see the piccies. You can repair stone with Sharp sand mixed with SBR primer. Can you re-post the piccies?

Remove all of the loose stuff, then use soft building sand/cement mixed with SBR. It's only cosmetic anyway.
