Hi chaps,

It seems my electrical training/ assessing time with my current company is at an end with the announcement of redundancies (73 in total). They are making new jobs (45 in total) but the companies plans have stirred up hornets nests across the board. As such I am looking for work elsewhere and have booked in for my BOSIET, MIST and medical this month with the hope of starting a career in Offshore (Oil/ Gas) as a competency assessor, trainer or electrical technician (yes, back on the tools). I have my CompEx (gas and dust), A1 assessor award and relevant electrical quals.

So, anyone have any good advice, contacts, jobs, etc?

Cheers for the replies.

Hi, Im also trying to get my foot in the door/chopper.

General advice seems to be get yourself up to aberdeen and visit as many recruitment agencies as you can. It also helps to know someone in HR.
