radiator brackets for vertical rad

our new heating system is being fitted at the weekend and to give the plumbers a head start hubby wanted to get the Apollo Milano Vertical radiator up in situ for them........BUT, we are not convinced that the brackets supplied are correct as the rad wont actually sit on the bracket (the rad came with the packaing selotaped up and the fixings stuffed in the top)

So my question is, are all brackets universal or do vertical rads have special ones ?????

if you haven't agreed it with the plumber then you are better to unwrap and positioning the components in the areas near to installation assuming the areas are clear and fitting the radiators are his next task
better still ask your plumber what he would like he may not like his routine being mucked about with

If you think the brackets are wrong, the place to go is the supplier, not here I'm afraid. You need to go back to your supplier and ask for replacements, stating that you think you've been supplied with incorrect brackets.

Generally brackets are manufacturer-specific and vary according to the height of the radiator.

As big-all has suggested, you'd be better off letting your installer fit the rad, for a start it might get in the way of him doing the pipework if it's fitted first, in which case he will have to remove it again for which he may well charge you extra

Most if not all rads come with a set of install instructions. Were there not any with your rad?

nop, there were no install instructions included......I have spoken to the manufacturer and by the sounds of it the brackets are correct......IMO the rad has been previously sold and returned...now whether that was because the previous buyer found it not to fit also I dont know

I would go back to the plumbers merchants we bouht it from but to be honest they are a bunch of idiots and we have had no end of hassle with them over this system

yes I just asked in case some helpful person might know if there were special brackets
