I'm shortly having a new Worcester 30 installed and been looking at the dt20rf and dt10rf optimiser.

I was wondering if the more basic dt20 offered a manual overide on the thermostate or is it a case of having to control this using the boiler programmer.

I really want to be able to just control things from the hallway and not go upstairs to a cupboard.

Should I just go for the DT10?

You dont say whether it is a 30cdi conventional, cdi system, si, cdi combi or whatever.

You can set the DT20rf to be permanently on, thus transferring control to the drayton sourced room stat.

The 10rf gives you full control independently of the boiler.

I would recommend three things;

1. Tell us which model you are getting installed
2. Ask yourself why the installer is not giving you this information. An accredited installer can give you good advice and up to 7 years warranty at the moment
3. I'm an accredited installer and - perhaps surprisingly - I wpuld normally specify Honeywell controls with a Worcester boiler. They are superior to the Invensys Drayton controls Worcester use, check out the Honeyell CM927 for the programmable stat.
