I'm a confident DIYer & in the process of updating the bathroom & therefore changing all fitments. They have all been removed. However during the process of removing the bath I went through the following process.
1. Main house stopcock turned off
2. Both red stopcocks on the hot water tank turned off
3. Ground floor(kitchen) hot & cold taps opened.
All flow through all taps stopped with the exception of the bath cold tap which had a small constant flow of water. This flow was not under pressure.
Bath has been removed OK and taps replaced back onto pipes as a temp measure. My question is where is this water coming from?. When I come to refit the taps I would prefer to have NO water running out of this cold pipe for obvious reasons.

If you can't manage to work out where it's coming from, you could install a full bore isolating valve. Should be easy enough to do even if there's a slight trickle of water, and won't restrict the flow/reduce pressure.

Thanks for the quick replies. Unable to trace source last night other than the flow is gravity fed. I must add that the flow is NOT a drip but a slow constant feed.
ChrisOxford it was my intention to use flexible connectors with built in iosolating valves rather than a straight isolating valve. Can I therefore take it that providing I use plenty of towels during the fitting of the connector that this will be ok :?:

Probably.

If you have the flexi's valve open and direct the other end of it into a bucket while you're attaching it, should be OK.

Note that flexis will restrict the flow from gravity-fed supplies, so you might want to think again!

Flow reduction. Is this due to the flexi's having a smaller bore :?: Will both cold & hot feeds be affected if I use them :?:
