Had met him a few times over the last 5 years or so and found him a very levelled guy with a good attitude to life.

Crashes happen, but surely Indy - with unforgiving concrete walls (and fences), needs more safety nowadays?

Anyway, a racing driver killed and a family in mourning. Never a good thing, no matter what kind of money was involved.

Dunno why but I'd never heard of him.

I never say the r thing for racers, they know the risks.

He leaves a family well provided for, 10 years or so in 500 racing and over 14 million $ in winnnings.

You live fast you die fast, respect.

However much his family were provided for, it doesn't take away the fact that he has died. For sure he and other racers know the risks, but it's another life gone. I used to race motorbikes years ago and knew the risks- but if I died on the track, that would be it.

Either way, the subject involves death.
No marks for guessing who'll be adding his inane dribble in here shortly.

Drive round a ring....for 300/500 miles..../laps never heard of him. How hard it it to drive a circle?

I get the impression that this kind of racing is all about waiting for an accident to happen - not much else going on is there? If they make it safe - it'll resemble the M25.

And why does MM never appear without Joey? hmmm...

The only connection there is some of us including Joe/myself get into work about 7.30/8pm and low and behold the last poster is usually MM at 2am.

I like watching F1 but admit i'd never heard of DW either  .

Agree with you there. Indycar racing, driving round and round and round does not interest me. Stick em on Silverstone and i'll watch it. Nevertheless a sad loss to his family, such a young age. :(

I agree MM, but its not a circle is it? Its an oval, and travelling at 220mph it can be deadly. Why do you add useless comments to discussions?

How would you have avoided this

How hard is it to find a job?
