Scrap steel pipe prices?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if it's worth salvaging old steel pipes and taking them to the scrap yard? Making about £200 a month at the moment from old taps and copper but I still come across a lot of old steel pipes and tanks - are these worth the hassle of cutting up and weighing in?

No! Might get a fraction more but few merchants will deal will quantities of less than a tonne, not worth working the prices out.

http://www.letsrecycle.com/prices/metals Light iron listed currently at £170/tonne, but quantity will affect what you'll be paid. (If anything...)

thats why you see loads of these tranny pickups with anything and everything metal on the back, its not worth taking in every day, they need a full load before they can weigh it in,
