Hi folks,

I have a problem with my upstairs bathroom toilet......It flushes fine, but 10 minutes after, solid waste comes back.....why?? Do you think its blocked?? I have lifted the manhole and all is clear there......Its very annoying!!

Any advice gratefully accepted

is it a new installation ? it sounds like you have backfall on that toilet branch

oh maybe somethings moved, has the drain been adjusted and some body lifted the stack to join in ??

ok.......so I know there is a blockage!! Whats the best way to get rid of it?? I've tried boiling water and bleach down it. I've also put my hand down it (complete with rubber glove)

Any other ideas??

Thanks

I haven't tried a plunger yet.....do I need a particular style?? Or will a normal one do??

Do you have a waterproof CCTV camera?

It sounds as if you need to see whats round the bend!

Sometimes the toilet pan can be moved forward to peer into the pipe behind.

Do you have subsidence? It sounds as if the slope of the pipes has failed.
