Hi.
Im in the middle of doing the bathroom. I need to change the rad for a towel rad. but before fitting the new rad i need to tile behind it.
Im on a combi boiler so I will have to drain the system before removing the old rad, however is there something I can use between the 2 pipes while I'm tiling so that i can still have the heating on?
my initial ideal was to get 2 speed fit elbows and some speed fit pipe to join the 2 together or is this a stupid idea?
as always thanks in advance.

You can still use the heating with the radiator removed. Just shut the valves, remove the rad, tile, then do your alterations when you fit the towel rail.

take it then that i won't have to drain the system yet until i put new rad on?

Advice: Buy the tallest towel rad as possible, you can fit a TRV on it and when it is covered in towels it will give out less heat but will also dry all the towels.

I have fitted a 1.8m towel rad, well pleased.
