Hi Guys,

I've given up..

I've lost high beam and dipped headlights on my car. Tried fuses and swapping relays - nothing...

Story behind it: My battery died while i had lights on (testing the rear as 1 had blown and the replacement bulb didnt work -Fixed this...) After repairing the rear light, the battery didnt have enough power to turn the engine, so had to jump start it - once it had enough power to start, it turned over - i left it running for 15 mins - then turned it off and went to bed.

Next day im out till dark, start car up at 9pm and theres no lights!....

So any idea??

Do all the other lights work and did the headlamps work after you jump started it?

Peter

All other lights work fine (tail, brake, indicators, fogs) - just the Main beam and High beam no longer work..

They did work before it was jumped...

Sounds like you have saused some electronic upset when you jumped it. You will need to get the fault codes read.

Other than checking the fuses in the usual fuse box, are there any heavy duty fuses located either on or very close to the battery terminal?
John :)

All fuses are good, all bulbs good....

I've now got lights!..

Pulled each and every fuse/relay from glovebox fusebox.

Downloaded an image from the FordWiki site and cleaned each relay/fuse - replaced and the lights worked... very odd!
