hi anyone, the timing belt went on the van, now fixed. the van has been off the road for three months. it will turn over but not kick into life. any ideas. is this a problem with the imobiliser or what. glad of any help. ray

what year and size of engine? Is the immobilizer light flashing rapidly on the dash when cranking, if so it's the immobilizer. if not could be crank sensor needs cleaning. Have you check if there's fuel a the injectors?
 
I assume that any damage to the engine was repaired before the new belt was fitted.

Presumably whoever repaired it started so under what circumstances would it not start?

it just seems to keep turning over without actually kicking into life.
i have to go and see the guy tonight again and try to get more info from him.
 
Does it have an in tank fuel pump, if so can you hear it running for a few seconds when you turn the ignition on?
