Hi, I have been doing up a room, and I drained the system to take the radiator off. I bought new valves etc, and took off the old fittings, including the pieces that screw into each end of the radiator body.
When I screwed the new ends in, one of them didn't come tight and just screwed right into the radiator. I optimistically used lots of ptfe with some jet lube, but didn't have much faith.
Unfortunately having refilled and repressurised the system, this end is leaking.
Is there a trick or a product to sealing ends like this?

Check the threads are not defected of split/cracked. If not give it another go with Loctite 55 thread seal. Wonderful stuff. Or since its heating some Boss white and hemp round the thread. Will never leak with that.

Ok thanks for the tip. I used some quick set epoxy "liquid metal" which is holding so far. Must remember that for next time.
