What would be an approx cost for a gas installation for a gas cooker, it will require about 5 feet of pipework to the cooker location, then connected to the cooker with relevent safety checks.
Located central scotland and assuming no problems.

£70 if it can be fitted in while travelling to or from another job, bit more if you want a specific time when i have more travel, central is a big area, where are you and one of the locals will sort it for you

Good question - lots of assumptions going on. Freestanding? Countertop? Does it need a cutout? Is the pipework run accessable? Materials? £70 sounds cheap for a straight water run, yet alone gas with all the paperwork that you boys presumably have to do

need to assume till the OP gives us some meat on the bones, he said cooker, so to me that isnt a hob so no cut out required, 5' of pipe, worse case scenario speed bit through 3 unit side panels,
hose, bayonet, back plate couple of fittings, 2m 15mm copper, £70 to me for this is ok, depending on minimal travel

I don't fit cookers, but I would be looking at £70mfor a very basic fit. I do remember faling for "fitting a cooker" only to fing a "range" cooker requiring assembly. It tooka ages, and I charged more than my quote, as I felt that she hadn't been honest, but the cliemt, who was an ex neighbour was furious. But you soon learn :)

To be fair, with hindsight, it was my fault for not asking the right questions.

Could be I'm used to city prices and paying more to cover the "employee's" natural living costs.

If more than £30 plus price of hose (about £6.50) rthen you are
being ripped off!

Didn't know that they made 5' hoses at all, yet alone for £6.50. Also didn't know that it was OK to use a hose on (what may be) a fixed hob. But then again, I'm not a RGI

you won't stay in business long at those rates! 5 foot of pipe plus a stability chain or bracket, a bayonet and hose, whats left for fuel to get there and make a small profit?

we charge £65 if within a cupboard length either side or directly behind the cooker and that is cheap for the area.

Originally tried to charge us £110 when we had ours done 6 months ago.
OH beat him down to £90. (Don't give me the travelling time spiel, he was at a local merchant (who's a mate. I was asking him for a recommendation) less than half a mile away and came straight over.)

2 mtrs 15mm cu, a 15mm endfeed elbow, a 22mm coupler, a 22 x 15 reducer, a wallplate elbow and a restraining chain plus the associated consumables.

For some unfathomable reason he fitted the WPE behind the washing machine (Myopia?) and the restraining chain is screwed to a wooden batten that supports the worktop?!?!
All done BEFORE the bartering took place.
