toilet won't stop filling...

Hi all,

This is my first post!

We did a lot of work to our flat including putting in an en suite. The toilet and sink are connected to a Sanitwin. Occasionally the toilet after flushing does not stop filling. It is only occasional. The sanitwin pump is working fine and keeps emptying the toilet when this constant filling happens.

The big problem is the flushing mechanism is all hidden behind tiles (I asked for an access panel but didn't get one!). The switch for the cistern is pneumatic (I think) and my gut tells me that this is where the problem lies. I think this partly because a short sharp slap/knock on the tiles beneath the flush button stops the filling.

However, we're selling the flat and I feel bad about the purchaser moving in and experiencing this problem. Does my description lead anyone to any ideas on how to sort this? I think I'm unrealistically wanting a solution that doesn't involve removing loads of tiles and making a mess pre selling.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Thanks for the replies. I suspected these would be the answers but wanted to check if anyone had the exact same problem. I am currently training to be a domestic electrical installer so I think that GOP300 gonna be an essential tool. Looks great - thanks for the tip.

PS. I'd rather try to sort this out myself rather than call a plumber - it is DIY forum after all. Also I believe it's a fault of the pneumatic flush system which could be argued is not technically a plumber issue.
