Problem with Thermostatic Power Shower - Really need advice!

Hi,
As per your blog in January, I have a similar problem.
When you switch on the shower it comes on for three seconds and then cuts off straight away and on repeating this exercise it still cuts out straight away..
I have checked the solenoid and it reads 3.7k, which from my understanding is that the solenoid is working correctly.
Could you let me know what else could cause this problem and roughly how much would it cost to fix.
Also is there a way of testing the PCB as I think the on/off switch could possibly be faulty but am not sure how to test this correctly.
