Hi guys,

I have a Potterton 24 he eco boiler and the gland nut on the left hand side of the boiler that is on the 3 way diverter value is ever so slightly leaking when the pin moves in and out.

The system is working fine and the hot water comes through without any problems.

Now I know I can buy a kit with the gland nut as its included in the Diaphragm kits. These are about £10.

The help I need is how to fit it. Just the nut not the diaphragm.

If anyone could help that would be great.

Thanks
Paul

Turn off cold supply under boiler open hot tap.
Remove microswitch from front of valve undo the gland and replace with new gland and silver washer.
kit may also include a tiny O ring put this onto spindle before putting new gland on

Thanks for your help.

So I turn off boiler.

Turn the cold feed off from underneath.

Do I just run the hot tap until nothing comes out?

Then replace the parts.

Just out of interest is it ok to replace these sorts of parts as a DIY job?

Thanks again.

Hi guys,

Sorry for brining up an old post of mine.

Have noticed the gland nut is leaking again on my boiler. It has been a year and a half since it was changed. Is that normal?

Can I contact Potterton regarding this as I can't be replacing this every year.

I am not confident enough to do it myself so will have to get someone who knows what they are doing to replace it.

Have bought the kit so its ready.

Thanks
Paul
