Hello Experts,

I've done various decorating tasks recently and I cant help but feel I am not doing things in the most timely manner! I understand I am not expert so things take a bit longer but if I can have your opinions on the best order & expected time scales, it may help me in the future....

So Example,
A square, 4x4m bedroom, one window (wooden frame), 1 radiator and a door with gloss finish woodwork and door. Currently has wallpapered walls.

Needs to be stripped, filled/prepped then lining papered walls and painted with one Feature wall of a bold colour, rest off white.

What should be my plan of attack for a room like this and how long should it take me?

Thanks in advance for your help and opinions

Start at the top an work your way down.

do your prep then paint your ceiling, unscrew ceiling rose cut in the edges an around the rose with a rad roller, no need for a ladder. let it dry, will dry quicker than brushed on cutting in.!!!

line your walls leave em overnight for drying.

if you can get 5 straight drops out of lining paper. paste an whole roll. so when you cut at the skirting your next drop will meet the ceiling, (in most cases where straight) use a roller to paste the lining paper. much quicker.

use a large filler spatch and thin snap of blade for cutting the paper. also use the spatch to lay on the paper, if you get a "nib" behind tap it with spatch an its gone..

paint your walls doing the non feature walls first cutting down the feature sides so these dry first ready for when you paint the feature wall.

then do your wood work. use waterbased for quicker drying times

would take me 2 an a bit days,

Dunno how long your piece of string is but i been doing decorating 23 years,

if you was doing it all white and a feature wall.id strip fill prep etc. line then paint the ceiling and three walls cutting in everything with the roller,
