Ideal logic

"onlyfitidealboilers" looks to be the new forum troll and on an adverstising campaign.

i think ideal will find it hard to recover their reputation with engineers but many are still fitted as they're cheap so people who don't care about longevity fit them for maximum profit.

i've never known a make of boiler to be so badly designed and so unreliable as the ideal icos/isar. absolute bags of crap. although on the plus side they keep us engineers busy :)

The ravenheat c.s.i primary A , must come close , if not worse ????

Every boiler manufacture sends out a stinker, but you can only go on boiler trials in the market, on all types of systems to see if they stand the test of time and British heating systems are the hardest to please.

The Logic so far seems to be holding its own but no one can really comment until at least a yr in the market.

Remember the world is changing and boilers will be a small percentage of our time. need to look closely at renewables.

So, two years further down the line, what's the current opinion on the logic? Has it proved itself, disgraced itself horribly or is the jury still out?

Excellent boilers, i have been fitting them for a while and havent had any problems. Im confident to keep installing them.

Regards.

if anyone thinks the logic is bullet proof is kidding themselves
l2 is a common fault an only ideal engineers will be stocking the parts to fix these in future
heat ex's have been leaking into condense pipes at an alarming rate

problems are starting to come apparent, leaking heat exchangers isnt a good thing to hear and seems to be a common fault on 35kw models, as it is the heat engine that has let them down in the past and it looks once again to be their failing. Give it another 2-3 years and we'll be seeing heat exchangers dropping like flies at this rate. Pcb would appear to be an improvement on past efforts. alot better than their past efforts, but still alot better boilers on the market.
