The answer is that you are doing a proper course which will lead to a recognised NVQ Certificate.

Neither course will train anyone to be a plumber. To become a plumber you need to learn practical skills under the guidance of an experienced person.

To get a job you will need to demonstrate practical skills! Thousands have NVQs but only hundreds have practical skills!

Now just why do you want to be CORGI registered?

fot the love of god keep away for these "pay me twenty grand and I'll make you a plumber in five minutes" course, they are not respected by the industry and will do you no good at all in getting a job.

NVQ3 results in acs qualification so stick at what you are doing its the best way to go

At the end of the day we get payed for results. Some people can get results and a lot of people can't. You are only as good as your last job.

The other day I went to plumb in a kitchen sink. The odd job man was doing vertually all the work on an extension new build. No problem with the client, he used me for the corgi work and the plumbing, he used a well respected local electrician for the electrical work.

To cut a long story short this odd job man is a hidden pearl. For just £50 a day he is managing to a high quality of finish and in good time all other aspects of building work, that is he made the roof by hand, tiled it, dot and dabbed the wallls, fitted the kitchen. When I got there the bench's weren't cut , he was scratching his head over the kitchen jig, having watched joiners work I could show him how to do it, anyway I couldn't do my bit until they were cut and glued so we did it together. This man had a natural ability and skill, and great intelligence. The finished joints were as good as any I've seen, and I've seen a lot of kitchens. I hope the client appreciates what a bargain this man is.

Anyhow now that I've discovered him, I'll put him into work.

"Show me a man who is skilled in his work, and he will stand before kings"

As an employer all I want is results, but it is very hard to find someone who delivers the goods.

If you can develop the skill and ability, focus on the job in hand, don't talk, don't talk to customers, you'll never be short of a good job. If a big firm finds you and you work as abovce they'll never let you go.

In the end it takes focus and hard work.

NVQ plumbing won't help one iota to get you gas qualified, I believe.
I suggest the original inquirer does searches on several forums. There are several correct answers.

You don't need any particular qualification to do acs for corgi.

The plumbing nvq3 at our local college is purely a 12 month acs preparation, working through the citb books. I thought you had to have some sort of work placement to get a full nvq qualifiacations these days to get your on site experience signed off.
