At what point do you get the BSD (Downloading the driver or installing it)?

Where are you getting the driver from?

What is the service tag number of your PC?

Can you provide information of the BSD? Right click on My Computer and select Properties, then select the Advanced tab and then then the Settings button under Startup and Recover. Untick the Automatically Restart box and get it to bluescreen again. Post the details.

Get BSOD when installing drivers - tried driver from Dell website and Reltek website

will get details such as service tag etc

Thanks for your reply

Hi obmcfc,

Did you resolve this issue?

If not, it would probably be easier just to restore your computer back to when you started uninstalling software. Unless it has been disabled windows sets a restore point every time you install/uninstall software or updates

Not resolved yet mate, tried that but last 2 restore pints are me installing new drivers and then deleting again

Tried another forum and bloke gave me a link to file on rapidshare and had to extract that to get a key

done all that and got a virus which meant had to run virus scan

so not resolved yet

Its called BSOD for a reason, D = DEATH!!!

Best use of your time would be to source a WINDOWS install disk and do a fresh install

If you have files on the PC remove the HDD piggy back into another PC and copy over

BSOD are rarely fixed, not saying there unfix-able just quicker and more efficient to re-install!!

Hope that helps

thanks mate, guy from work bringing me in sound card this week will give your link a try first then his card if that doesn't work

Thanks for all your help guys ended up buying USB sound card for tenner all good now

Might be a bit late but if you'd gone into the Device Manager and uninstalled the driver from there XP should have picked it up the next time you rebooted and installed the relavent drivers for you.
