Trade counter assitant at plumbers merchants

Hey does any one no what kind of wage you get for begin a trade counter assistant at a plumbers merchants. I have been kinda offerd a job at one need to go down and speak to the manager this week. I just wonderd what the pays usualy like if any one knows?

13-17k 17k is assistant manager round here, they get bonuses on top, a few independent merchants pay more though

First of all its a job! Many dont have one.

Second, its actually a very good way into plumbing. You meet local plumbers and IF they are impressed by you they will be able to offer you an apprenticeship or a job.

It does not always work out though. Dan took on this bright fellow from a merchant. He had taken his NVQ2 and seemed pretty sensible. Unfortunately he did not develop well and was rather less than honest and had to be "let go".

I no but iv got a job at the momment I quite like. Its not plumbing I am a plumber by trade though worked as one for 5 years
 
At least you won't have to worry about knackering up your knees! To be fair though a lot of people at merchants have a very good knowledge of plumbing, especially when it comes to fittings e.t.c, so you could learn quite a lot.
 
Why are you looking to change if you like what you're doing now?
 
How come the OP wants a min wage job when he is a plumber and could earn double ?
