Hi.

I had my annual assessment on friday.

I had one observation. I had 2 jobs on call with the owner and the assessor chose a rewire i did in november.

All ok until he asked me why i had not installed a means of isolation between the lighting circuit and the first mains smoke detector. I said that i did not realise that i did not need to do that and he referred me to page 65, bottom paragraph of the red on site guide. I responded with the fact that even if i did then it may be opened by a habitant to prevent nuisance activation in the event of poor cooking skills and forgotten about afterwards. Yes i know they have battery back up, but that is not the point.

Interestingly, in the green guide (ammendment 1), we could find no reference to it.
which why I am confused as to why he mentioned it.(ok it was a 2001 install)

Maybe he felt he needed to find an observation.

Does /did any other practicing electricians do this??

Regards

you may want to go to massages(messages) and then message settings and then change the type of user that can send you messages.

You maybe more popular than you think, lol

Better tell him about Aico and how they say to fit alarms then.
