Integrated dishwasher door sticking on the kick plate

Hi

As per title really. We have an Siemen dishwasher, its fully integrated into the worktop.

Recently we've noticed that when we open the dishwasher door the bottom of it catches on the kickplate below.

This has gradually got worse, to the point where when we open the door it now drags the whole dishwasher out !.

I cant really undestand how this can happen, or how I can fix it....any ideas ?

To note, I can see the kickplate has been cut into to allow for the opening of the dishwasher door - and it used to open fine.

Poor fitting by the installer defo no fault of the appliance you need to remove kick board and see how the installer has raised the dishwasher up to the worktop . The dodgy fitters use little offcuts of wood which eventually give way.

Hi thanks for the reply, sounds about right we have loads of "niggles" in this house.

What is the recommended way to raise the dishwasher ?

the best way to sit it is on solid piece of old worktop cut to the size of the base of the dishwasher that way it will never drop and if need to remove it for servicing then it will pull out easily and it wont get snagged on any flooring

Should have adjustable legs, don't sit on worktop totally unsuitable, will swell and distort when wet.The kickboard was probably not sealed and has buckles upward when wet.If the machine moves when door is opened then it was not secured to worktop as per fitting instructions.

Yes it has adjustable legs so no probelm at all sitting on worktop even it does swell slightly which it wont unless it has a leak !!!!!!

Hi

Just got round to looking at this......That's what Easter breaks are all about

I have taken the kickboard off, and can see the Dishwasher is sitting on a slab of wood (which is fixed to the floor).

The Dishwasher has a screw that lowers and heightens it. I have adjusted the screw to increase the height of the Dishwasher so that it no longer catches on the kickboards.

However, the Dishwasher is now no longer flush with the rest of the kitchen cupboards from a 'profile' perspective.

Seems that increasing the height has pushed the Dishwasher 'out' at the top..

Any help more that appreciated...

Hi

It looks like that screw at the front of the Dishwasher is only raising the back of the Dishwasher - I guess it should it raise both front and back ?..

The screw in the middle only raises the back single central leg,there are two legs at the front.

Thanks, yes you are correct it only raised the back leg.

I cannot figure out how to raise the front legs ...I can see the front legs, i've attached two pictures.

Is there a special tool to raise the front legs ? It looks like there is a very small hole above the actual leg ?
