How do I get inhibitor into my radiator?

I've made a few changes to my central heating system, namely changed a rad, and its pipes. The system has been partly drained a few times over the 5 years since the combi boiler was changed so I thought I would add some inhibitor, sentinal X100.

I left my new rad isolated for this reason. I opened one of the blanks on the top and inserted a length of pipe into which I poured the inhibitor. Instead of going into the rad, it just ran out again. Poking my finger inside told me that the hole into the rad is half way up ball shape inside, so by the time it reaches this, it has already run out of where it came from.

Am I doing something wrong? How do the professionals do it?

go to a proper plumbers merchants and get some rapid dose this is aerasol type form and alot easier to put into the system via a radiator

already paid £15 for a litre bottle so i would prefer to use this first.

tried opening the other outlet on top of the rad, but makes no difference due to the hole going into the rad being higher than the bottom lip of the threaded hole.

Is there somewhere on my boiler to get it in?

Otherwise, I was thinking of fitting an upward facing tee somewhere with a bleed valve or something that i can unscrew and pour directly into.

Or try a funnel with a piece of pipe, size of which is appropriate to go over the wier that seems to be in the pipe.
At least that's what I take out of the OP.
If you have fittings lying around could make something up similar to the photo.

The further thought occurs:-

You could try and use a funnel/pipe arrangement, (or something similar), then temporary seal the connection of the pipe and radiator with something like electrical tape.
This would hopefully stop the inhibitor leaking back out when poured in.
It would be best to open up the other vent too.

Just suggesting the sealing with tape as you may have some handy.
Would even try some sellotape if that were handy.
doesn't need to look good or last long, just enough time to get the inhibitor in.
An extra pair of hands may come in handy to hold everything steady.

just a shame the bottles don't come with one of those nozzle thingys that you see in gearbox oil top up bottles.
Again, just throwing something out there as it may spark an idea within.

heres one i made earlier

Did one of your CC/CCC star pupils make that up for you Kirk?? That'd be a challenge for any Milkman!!!

Well, if it's good enough for that well known star of stage, screen and Youtube, I'm sure it's good enough for the rest of us. You get to see his face in this one. Thought I'd seen this Heath Robinson invention somewhere else.
