I have given up having discussions over pricing with customers , had one last week gave her a price for labour three times and told her part was at trade price three times , fooking going round and round in circles eventually she says to expensive and i tell her to get BG out and she says oh no there to expensive
Cost doesnt come into it they could quite easily paid 100 quid to someone who doesnt know how to clean a burner properly or look for signs of possible fault.
In defense of guy without actually seeing around the burner area a bit of fluff being pulled in to just the wrong bit can cause this within days
Gas112, surely cleaning of lint filter, checking flame picture and looking at stat of system components (like a layer of dust with no no fingure prints suggesting lack of proper service) is required to ensure proper combustion.
Mostly a boiler service is often an operational check only. Have been caught in this trap often when quoting to service boilers. The white deposit does not layer the heat exchanger in just 12 months if the boiler gets a service as described in the manual. Flame picture itself will tell a story. Even a FGA would have shown poor combustion in this case.
Have to say £30 service is just an operation check on the boiler and some form filling over a cup of tea
