Hi there,

I'm looking for a type of nut and I have no idea what it is called although I'm sure something like this must exist. Is there a nut like a 'sex nut' (female) but with a threaded hole that runs all the way through the entire nut so I can screw an M6 bolt right through so the nut is flush with the top of the bolt? Please see attached drawing ( might make things a bit clearer).

Thanks,

Julian

Rivit nuts are better suited to steel as this is the woodwork section you may find this more suitable. The prongs grip the wood so the nut wont turn rather than trying to expand a rivit nut into wood which wont work

If your bolt were a fraction shorter you could use these, the bolt stops short of the hex socket, they do matching bolts if its something that is on show

Also called "sleeve nuts"

and sold as "bed nuts" because they are ised in assembling the frame (seem to be 6mm with a big domed head)

and as "kitchen cabinet joining screws (usually about 36mm long and chromed)
