Just used my cooker grill, its banged and at the same time I saw a flash of light and then went off. Both cooker and grill have stopped working? Any ideas please why and can it be fixed?

Thanks

Has the fuse/MCB/RCBO or RCD tripped when the bang happened and will it turn back on?
Does the cooker still light up, what type/model of oven is it?

No the cooker is dead, can you advise what I need to check and I will get back to you.

First I would isolate the circuit and prove it is dead.
Then I would investigate inside any terminal connection points that connect the cooker up to the supply.
So your cooker isolator plate (switch)
The outlet plate or socket outlet that cooker flex/cable is terminated to, if there is one.
The plug if one
and the internal connection to the cooker.
Also any exposed flex or cables
You are looking for loose connections, burnt or damaged insulation of conductors.
Ideally you could do with an approved voltage indicator and continuity tester,
to confirm continuity and voltage.
A multimeter would help with these tests.
