I always thought Lionel Messi looked part Native American. Being Argentinian, that's a strong possibility.

As for the OP saying you don't need fitness for table tennis; well, I disagree. Do you seriously think Phil Taylor would be able to play table tennis? Professionals would run him ragged around the table. He wouldnt even be able to run to the next shot. But that's not to take anything away from Taylor. He was highly dominant in his sport.

what nonsence..... Taylor doesn't play ping pong profesionally.. my point was there are sports where you don't need to be ripped....

Even rugby.... some forwards are there as ballast !!!

You said you don't need to be fit. A 6ft 25 stone man (if he is very obese)won't be able to play table tennis very well. You can most sports without being ripped if you wanted to. Even sports like boxing, American football. However, they will run out of breath and won't likely be any good.

yeah... you miss the point... not every fat person is good at javelin...

however, some sports don't need a Beckham physique to be good...

There are different ways of describing 'ripped'. A ripped person can be someone who is very lean with a thin body or someone who is very muscular but also has a very lean body. Clearly, Beckham isn't all that muscular, but he is ripped in a lean way with moderate amount of muscle. So, yes, a'ripped' body can be achieved in different ways. For example, mr universe bodybuilders are 'ripped' at the time of a contest even though some of the are like 20 stone.

Whats the question again??

The question was...is darts a sport. The answer is an obvious NO!. It's a pub game which can be played for high stakes at the highest level, as long as the telly people put some money in.

Exactly! Like snooker, pool and indeed shooting or archery if pubs would have them ;) Or like bowls or like several other non-contact, non highly physical, non fitness-related activities.

You fckn dhead, how can he be a sports star if darts isn't a sport?

well Wikipedia says this.. "As well as being a professional competitive sport, darts is a traditional pub game"

you will obviously make your own small mind up.. i don't care what you think, so go and troll someone else.......

for the record, i think Phil Taylor is the best champion at a game that this world has seen.... he's dominated for 17 years..... no other game player has done that? have they?

Although Randy Couture needs a mention for being phenominal in UFC in his 40's !!!
