washing machine stopped working, checked carbon brushes and they were worn nearly to the limit, pushed them in and out several times put them back in two weeks later machine stopped working eg washing and spinning, replaced carbon brushes and machine started to wash a little,eg start at 56 mins stop at 47 mins, select spin only pump water out, spin programme 10mins stops at 9 mins, will not go into spin although the water is out, check filter in pump all ok, disconnect pressure swith hoses and blow down them all clear, I thought may be the new brushes needed to be bedded in so took out clothes and again selected spin but again no spin, can any one help help????

If there is a speed control board in the bottom right hand side try to disconnect it and have a good look I have often found a small dry joint on the board and been able to put a dot of solder on the joint and it has come back to life - i would reccomend anyone to change brushes as soon as it is known they are very low motors are expensive to replace and brushes are cheap

you can see the crack, the black line from the tranny to the ressisor, but it hasn't gone right through the board can this be repaired??? thanks for pointing me in the right direction, do you think this is the problem??

Thanks MJJUK, for the info, I managed to take the board out, could not see any dry joints used a small scewdriver to see if any movement they all seemed sound, but there seems to be a crack on the surface of the board, do you think this could be the problem and can it be repaired? is it possible to drop some solder on each line??

I personally have not repaired the tracking on a pcb.
It may be worth looking for a new control board.

A new control board is £140 they need configuring.
You might be able to get a used one and reconfigure it to your machine

Thanks MJJUK I will try and solder as the machine is at least 8 years old now.
