People on benefits..

.. should all be made to turn up at various venues every morning at 9am... if they don't they don't get their benefits...that way we'll know who's up for working, plus the government might be able to put the mass gathering of people to good use?

Yep - local community service would be a good thing. Only get the benefit if they put in a couple of hours work in the morning followed by a free lunch, followed by a couple of hours job hunting and application forms in the afternoon.
 
A friend of mine is now having to do voluntary work at a charity shop for his "Dole Money". ......Problem I have with this is,,, He no longer has to sign on , but still receives his fortnightly benefit payment,,,,,,, Yet he's no longer included in the monthly unemployment figures, but still unemployed.

Is this the latest attempt by the government at "Massaging the unemployment figures" :?: :?: :?: :?:

So, in effect they are employed by the state? How does their "wage" (ie benefits) compare to minimum wage?
 
How can they be doing voluntary work if it is enforced?
It wouldn't make any difference to the figures anyway - there are millions unemployed yet 4 out of 5 new jobs go to migrants.
If you want to lower unemployment - then stop allowing migrants into the country.

Perhaps the migrants are hungry, so they go out and look for work and put in their allocated hours. Plenty on benefit can not be ar5ed to get out of bed.
 
Many companies only employ migrants. We survived before they came to steal the jobs.
 
With the recession in full swing and 70 firms a week going down there are many people claiming benefits now who deserve to be paid even more in benefits based on the many years they have contributed to the system.
 
All unemployment benefits should be scrapped.
There is no unemployment, just lazy barstewards who don't want to work or accept jobs they consider "beneath them"..
Thats why the country is flooded with foreigners.
Other countries can make do without benefits.
 
We employ foreigners only because 30 years of experience tells us the homies don't like getting their hands dirty or doing hard labour.
I pass some of them in the morning if I'm running late standing at the local town monument waiting for the pubs to open or to cash in their giro's at the post office. All well fit to work but choose to milk the system because the easy money is available.
 
So you are part of a company that ONLY employs foreigners and you have the hide to tell Brits they are lazy. *** **** :rolleyes:
