...has died.

But did he do it? Many say that he did not - including the GP who's daughter was aboard.

I guess he knows the case better than we do.

One thing's for sure. If ever I am unlucky enough to be diagnosed with prostate cancer, I'm heading to Libya for one of their miracle treatments.

Bloody crooked politicians!

bit like weather forecasts, they get it wrong
we will only know what the govt wants to tell us.

Not much of a cure though if he died from it????????

Read my post again S L O W L Y. Where did I mention 'cure'?????????

When released in 2009, he was expected to survive a maximum of 3 months. He lasted 3 years. There was quite a bit of controversy about it at the time. You may not have noticed, though. You seem to miss some things.

Miracle implied cure. Fair enough?
Edit.- Unless you mean delaying dying by 3 years qualifies as a miracle.

No. Miracle implied a treatment that miraculously extended someone's life by 2 years 9 months, in the face of estimates from medical specialists. A treatment is just that. A treatment.

I have the letters 'C' 'U' 'R' and 'E' on my keyboard, and I purposefully didn't use them, as no cure was effected.

If you struggle with the meanings of words, can I suggest that you refer to a dictionary. Although I still can't be sure that you will comprehend the words correctly.

I wasn't aware American armed forces had brought an Iranian passenger plane down soon before Lockerbie, killing most or all of the passengers. Did the Americans get punished for that?

Easy tiger......

There are loads of examples of people living longer (or shorter) than expected with terminal illness, but these are not miraculous - just a result of medical prognosis not being an exact science.

Perhaps our expectations are just different. Mine would be that a 'Miracle treatment' usually implies clearing up the ailment or condition. If that warrants you thinking I struggle with teh meaning of words, then fair play to you , I'll accept that, no harm done.

If I was lying in a hospital bed with a terminal ilness and the doctor said 'Great news , I've got a miracle treatment for you'
then I'd be a bit put out if this 'miracle' tuned out to mean I was going to die in two or three years time anyway rather than it being a cure.

I can't imagine anyone shouting out with relief 'It's a miracle - I'm not quite as ill as I thought I was, but still going to pop the old clogs, just a bit later than expected "
:D

Edit, forgot to say well done, you did well to type that without using the letters 'C' 'U' 'R' and 'E

What do you think? The captain of the ship and many of the crew were awarded medals for their 'bravery.' The plane in question was flying in a recognised international flight path yet was shot down by an American ship with all passengers being killed. And they wonder why most of the world hates them? Funny how the western media keeps this quiet seeing as it's pretty relevant to the Lockerbie bombing.

As for Lockerbie, anybody with a bit of sense knows that in all probability Al Megrahi wasn't the one behind the bombing. For starters, the Maltese shopkeeper who was the 'star' witness had seen pictures of Al Megrahi in magazines before being asked to identify who he saw. Then when being asked to describe the person he saw, buying the items of clothing which were traced to his shop from the crash wreckage, he described a man over 6ft and in his 50's. Considering at the time Al Megrahi was in his 30's and 4 inches smaller, this doesn't sound like a credible account. He was also paid 2 million dollars for his evidence by the FBI and now apparently lives in the U.S.

His conviction was pretty much all down to the account of the one witness who as described above was unreliable at best. In any normal court case a guilty plea wouldn't be issued on such flimsy evidence. It's obvious to most who have studied the case in depth that his conviction is unsafe and many believe he was made a scapegoat.

There's plenty of info on the internet if people want to read up. It's obvious to me that he wasn't behind it but was made a scapegoat so the FBI could say they've solved the case and appease the relatives.
