system config, at factory settings, your panel is currently configured to grade 3.

37 - Panel Grade 3
All options relating to PD6662: 2004/EN 50131-1 Grade 3 are
enabled automatically. Also, the Premier Anti-code reset
becomes a 6-digit number and all user codes can only be
programmed as 5 or 6 digits

to enable and change 4 digit code to 4 digit and use 4 digits, you need to activate grade 2:
Panel Grade 2
All options relating to PD6662: 2004/EN 50131-1 Grade 3 that
are not required for Grade 2 are disabled automatically. Also, the
Premier Anti-code reset becomes the standard 4 digit number
and all user and engineer codes can be 4, 5 or 6 digits.

global / config options / no 37 grade 3/ untick for 4 digit code this may be a different option number depending on panel software version but will be somewhere around 37 if not.

Spot on guys, it was 37 , just changed it to grade 2 and its worked... Thanks once again everyone for your feedback

Sorry to be a pain again. I've linked out the 2 pir that haven't come yet, so I can do a few tests on the alarm, soon as I log out of engineers I get a aux tamper, panic button active? Any suggestions

Also when I choose to do a walk test in engineers uti I get a message saying none

aux tamper is on the side above bell connections that needs linking out and best way to deal with spare zones is to proram them to not used.

thats sorted cheers, i still get a message saying active panic button ? is this normal

Yes installed a g2 steel button, using 4 wires 2 alarm 2 tamper, jumper set to deafault normally closed. Which is what the wiring choice is promgrammed for on the 48

Hi all, still got a few problems with this alarm
  .... Everything is connected up now. when i go to set the alarm i get a message saying panic button active and front door active. I think i must be missing something hear. the door contact is a knight yend 74 with resistors. i've attached 2 images one of the door contact and one of the panic button, both just having 4 cables connected. 2 alarm 2 tamper. Any ideas ?

if you go into the engineers settings press [9] this brings up engineers utilities press [yes] press [3] this brings up view zone status press [yes]
type in the zone number of the devices youre having trouble with. (001 for zone one, 034 for zone 34 etc)

It will tell you the status of the zone and also the resistance of the circuit. Let us know what the readings are.

Normally for door contacts and PA buttons you'd just connect 2 wires and they will do both alarm and tamper.

Do you have the wiring diagram supplied with these two devices?

Where in yorkshire are you?

have you altered any of the zone configs for resistor type ? but as RF says you are better looking at the zone status from engineer utils first or twist your alarm pair and tamper pair together and check to see what panel says.

Pull the jumpers off the panic button if your not using the resistors.....(the way you've wired it suggests you aren't using them, put the lid on reset it with the key should now say secure,

cheers for reply guys, The panic button already has had all the jumpers taken off apart from the one on bottom right which says normally closed.

ive just checked the zone status and got as follows

Zone 1 (front door) >65k active

zone 4 (panic button) >65k active
