With help on here I have been told that what I need is a maintenance oil.
My floor (yet to lay) is matt oiled at the factory and we want a more of a sheen - satin look, apart from that are not sure on the quality of the factory one anyway.
Which can you recomend
osmo Liquid wax cleaner
Bona Hardwax oil refreshner
woca maintenance oil
Blanchon Maintenance oil (although it looks like this will not buff to a satin)

The final choice may well depend upon what everyday cleaner goes with the product

TREATEX best hardwax oil out other than pallman magic oil which is harder to get and for professional use only

Thanks for your help I have gone for Bona hard wax oil refresher

I think WYL and Will 2000 missed the point.
As a maintenance oil, all the ones you mentioned will do the job very well. This is not the time to be putting down a full HardWax Oil.

You would be better of putting a full bodied hwo on your new floor first then following up with a maintenance coat in a months time.

The oiled floor you bought is more than likely just got a primer oil on top hence why its a flat matt and looks dull a maintenance coat won't give the floor the protection it needs.

I have shown a plank to a couple of suppliers of oak floor who I went to see about what I need for a slight sheen as compared to my sample. They both said it was of a good quality. It is total 18mm with a 5mm oak top 150 wide and the shortest I have found is 450mm long. Every box seems to have the same size lengh mix. The box says brushed and natural oiled.
I have given all of this info so maybe to shed a little extra light on what my factory oil may be.
I have done a test with the bona refresher on half a board and it seems to do what I want. I then run a bead of water along it and dabbed it along also and then wiped off after 30 seconds, on the half with the bona on there was no trace of where the water was but on the other side you could see where the water was and after fully drying that area was a bit lighter than before.

it's quite common (these days with so many products coming from China) the "oil" used on pre-finished boards is not really protecting against drips and spillages.
When we install boards like this, we either apply a wax-polish or one coat of HardWaxOil to create a better wear and tear layer.

Thanks for that
As I have already got the bona hard wax oil refresher which I was going to use.
I thing I will go for the bona hwo http://www.bona.com/en-GB/United-Kingdom/BonaSystem1/Coatings1/Oils--Wax/Bona-Hardwax-Oil/.
The one coat idea of a full finnish is what I was first thinking but I got the oil refresher on advice of others on here. I do not mind going over the top with the coating so long as I am not ending up with too much product and there for problems.
Just want to gauge opinions
Do I just go with my hwo refresher
Or I proper coat of hwo
or is puting one coat on no use
Please remember that the boards do already have an oil coating that I do not trust as it seems just like WUL said - its just something so they can say that it is "oiled"
