As a parent i just don't understand how this was possible? I can understand in the circumstances how its possible it could happen, maybe to leave another adult behind by mistake, but there is no way at all that I would ever just "assume" my daughter was with my wife and drive off.

Most of us wouldn't do this, because most of us wouldn't have a fleet of cars to get about, we would all get in the family car.

I've done it. albeit from the nursery.
Went to collect the girls (2 of) arrived home with one. Wife not best pleased. Completely forgot the eldest.

Never done it myself. Worst wife did was lose two buggies.
 
David Cameron has blamed the previous Labour government for leaving him with no choice other than to leave his daughter unattended in a local pub.
