Hi

I have had along day in work and I could sleep for like a whole month so as my reward I treated myself to a couple of cans of Carling to wind down...

Being firmly rooted on the couch I nearly asked my 7 year old to go get me a can out the fridge   stopped myself though and went myself

Was just a gut feeling that it was wrong, should I know why as I said am tired will deffo be taking zeds by 10

You have a 7 year old wife?? That's not uncouth, it's in a completely different league

It starts off with getting you a beer.....
Then what , getting him to light your fags!

Well my general rule is "Never ask anybody to do something for you that you can easily do for yourself". (Except when she offers of course. That's a whole new ball game. ;) ;) ;) ) Why? Because the day will come when you really do need somebody to do something for you and if they've grown sick of being used as a gopher they're liable to make an excuse and leave. :( :( :(

It's a concept I've always tried to instill in our two but with only partial success. Thinking back though, I suspect that either of them might, at the age of seven, have volunteered to bring me a Carlsberg Special. :D :D :D

i dont see anything wrong with it, its not as if you are mega drunk and abusing him, kids should be ok knowing their dad likes a can of beer, its hardly a disaster is it, i have got one of mine to get me a bottle of beer from the fridge, they enjoy messing about and trying to open it etc, its all about "how" you "ask" rather than shout and demand

It also promotes a healthy , responsible attitude to alcohol and trains them for the social side of drinking when they are older.

ie when out in teh pub , always make sure you get them in for dad

There is down side to this you realise, as they get older they expect a taxi service, mine is 32yrs now and still wants a lift down town on a regular basis.

Sell the car.

On second thoughts, that's a bit extreme. If you know in advance when you're likely to get dumped on, be prepared. Be in the bath with a can of Carlsberg Special. :) :) :)
