its dead easy, you fill in the form with details of who you are paying how much and to what country they are in, then your son turns up at a western union outlet there with photo ID and gets the money, the max you can send online the first time you do it is only a couple hundred quid and you can only make 3 online payments before you need to open an instore account with them, i do it at a local shop to me, and can transfer a few thousand at a time

so he can turn up at any western union outlet great
i joined then fully through sending procedure £200 spain big all junior
i was worried about clicking the next step in case they wanted a reference or agent number ect

so if i now go through the whole set up and put £200 in the system
my son with a passport he can pick it up ??

as long as you have the tnr(on your paperwork when you send) number
and you will need to send that to your son
and your right details its a doddle me and bett send each other wedge all the time ;)

transaction number if you dont have that he wont get jack
they keep changing the letters but its a MTCN number now
sorry all
10 digit number
e mail is in my profile i can send you a copy of the form if it helps
bett is the one you want but she aint online now

Is there still a question about it? Looks like all the right answers. transaction number is essential (if you need to trace it), printing their details needs to match (exactly) their ID they are using, and there is a way of entering a 'security' question that they can answer, but I always skip that part---I never saw a need for it.

ok thanks people
after wasting around half an hour with tsb getting the "unusual transaction" cleared
i then came upon a page requiring me to scan and download proof ??????????????????
if you know me i can not do any transferring thingamyies to wotsits
after a further 30 mins to what i assume was a well spoken mexican[assumption i know]who was very helpfull got no where

so i now have to go to down town where i dont need proof for such a small amount

thanks again for all your help

sorry i forgot to mention the transaction number, but as usual someone else had it covered

big all, I don't know what web page you were on...and in all fairness, it might be different here in the states. It's simple to do online (here) it's called money in minutes..you type out the receivers name/city/and phone number, you pay with either a debit or credit card, and when you logged in--you had to give your email address--you will receive an email confirming the transaction, along with the MTCN (transaction number) to share with the receiver. It's easier when you know that number when you go to pick up the money but if you don't have it, they use the personal information given on the form--which is why I said exact (as on ID)..it matters.
I've had some really nice dingbats at the store who swear blind I don't have anything...give the MTCN number and lo and behold...oh dear...it's the UK, not the Ukraine
hope this helps!

Big-all, I trust , your son didn't send you an email saying he'd make you beneficiary of a box containing $25,000,000 US Dollars, and needed the £200 for advance payments?
If so he'll send another one saying you now need to pay £1000 for insurance and clearance certification, done through his lawyer ( a certain Mr Barr Andrew Lawrence (man of integrity) )
