Had bathroom rerendered

Hi,
I stripped my bathroom out and had to remove all render back to brick as really bad now my father has re-rendered the whole room but I would like a little advice. I want to tile all the walls of the bathroom do I need to have them plastered first before tiling ? or can I just time on the render which is the best route to take.

Can anyone advise

You can tile on render when it is dry, but is it flat?

Besides, full tiling looks like a public toilet, better tiling wet areas and plastering and painting the rest.

Yes the render is dry as was done a while ago now and is straight as that is another reason why the old had to be removed.

Thanks for the advice on tiling as I never thought of doing wet area's only shall give some thought as it would save a bit of money doing that way

It saves money AND you can change the colour scheme whenever you want.

Tiles were invented when paints washed off when hit with condensation - that doesn't happen today.
