Had to turn the power off yesterday to get some work done. When I turned it back on, the Galaxy G2 carried on running on batteries. Having taken to it with a multimeter, I can see that there's 230V across the transformer inputs and a whopping 0V across the outputs. Oh dear. The transformer is marked "AMC (r) SAT-0016". I have tried searching with a well-known Internet search engine but cannot find any trace of a company called AMC or, indeed, the model in question. Does anyone know where I can source a replacement transformer for said alarm?

Thanks.

Not unless you have an account with one of the suppliers.
Next option is a rack mounted 1amp constant rated transformer. Unless it is a 20/44 and you need a 1.4amp rated (peek).

Do we know what the output voltage of the transformer should be? I would assume 13.8V, since it needs to charage the SLA? Do we know what the Voltage tolerance is for the alarm?

Is the transformer in the alarm not an off-the-shelf component from $electronic_components_company_of_choice? What does one have to do to get an account with one of the supplies?

Hi,

did you get a replacement transformer - I am looking to switch mine out (for something that is less noisy); have the same problem as you in that I cannot identify what spec transformer I would need to replace it with

with thanks

I don't fully recall the exact problem or how I came to misdiagnose it. Long story short is that it wasn't the PSU in the and.

In an attempt to answer your question, I never found a source for the PSU, although a 18V / 1A supply is what I understand you will require.
