Close coupled toilet leaking from bolts

The bolt kit you posted the pic for does not require any silicone dabbed anywhere near it the 2 conical seals will be sufficient.

I always think "cowboy" when I see silicone inside or under a recently installed cistern!

Agree whole heartedley. Same goes for use of PTFE as mentioned earlier in the thread

THINK logically. You have two holes which need to be plugged up with cistern fixers which are the bolts. Conical washers centralise the fixings as well as assist in sealing the holes. Water can and will travel down the thread if fixing is poor or loose. Look for spikes or cracks/ uneven surface where the rubber washers will seat- have come across this problem in th past

Remove the cistern, check tightness of the bold fixing (should be hex nut) and fill the cistern manually and check for leak before you fit the cistern to he pan. Avoid using silicon as it looks untidy and will be difficult to disassemble at a future date.

Now that you have no leak from the fixing holes, fit the cistern. If still leaking when cistern flushed, as already suggested, checked the doughnut washer, replace it even
