H guys, just wondering what you all think of people trying to disguise their thinning hair. I don't see why people see the need to try a ridiculous hair style to hide what nature brings. Is it such a bad thing to accept the baldness? Or is it better to to do what you can to try and deceive other people into thinking you are not suffering from this, even though it tends to be obvious?

My view is that if you are thinning up top just accept it and let it be.

Any other opinions on this?

I agree but have sympathy for the reasons behind it.

A guy in my local has a really nice comb-forward from the crown of his head with the worlds supply of brylcreem on to hold it there.

Another person once accused me of wasting the fact I'm not bald by having a skinhead by choice.

Funnily enough this is the same scenario with a bloke from my work! Except this guy tries to stick his hair to his head with some sort of gel! Why don't people just accept it for what it is? It really should not matter in the grand scheme of things should it? Vanity is a cruel mistress indeed! ;)

Just accept it. When I was in my early 30's I started losing my hair. A lad at work called me baldy. I looked at him (aged 22) and you could see the start of his male pattern baldness and told him when I'm 40 I'll have more hair than you. Less than 5 yrs later and he did indeed have less hair than I have still got now at age 56. ;) ;)
A friend of my dad's had the Bobby Charlton look. He wouldn't go out if it was windy though, but one night turned up at the pub on a very windy evening. He came through the door holding his head and just as he let go, the draught through the door blew it back from over his head (he didn't notice this). We said nothing to him. My dad was almost pee'ing himself, but said nothing. After about an hour this chap went to the toilet and after about 5 minutes, came back with his hair meticulously combed into place, to a roar of laughter from the whole pub.

In a way, I can see why people go to such lengths to cover up their millenium dome. My brother is 4 years younger than me, but because he has nothing on top, but I still have a full, thick head of hair, they always assume that I am the youngest.

Don't get the toupee thing though. If you're bald, no one looks twice. Put a rug on your head and you might as well have a neon sign saying 'syrup' on your forehead.

Have to agree with the above. Seems silly to try and hide it as when you do this it draws more attention to the egg in the nest! Shave it and be done with it. A lot less attention attracted then!

best if you tell us about your hairline situation eh?

 hasnt this topic been done already.......and locked and deleted?

personally i prefer man to have a full head of hair......must be horrid for guys who have that kind of monk type thing going on....

If my head ever goes like that I'd shave it all off. I'd rather be a skinhead than a monk.

It's a bit irrelevant as the topic is about peoples opinions on what they think about people trying to hide the fact that they are going bald! But as you ask, I have no issues with my hair as of yet. If I do start to thin you will be the first to know! ;) But when and if I do start to lose it I can honestly say that I would whip the lot off. Less embarrassing than trying to disguise it in my opinion!
