i just bought a house with this alarm. There was a wiring hanging and tamper light on, the alarm wouldnt set or walk test.
I think the wire is a door contact. (they had it replaced)

i bought a 5 chan contact online and wondering what the wiring is to put it back?

any help welcome

Thanks, i was told the scantronic wires are not a standard...

I cant see any image there which really tells me what wires i need to connect and where

It rather depends on where they are connected inside the control panel, do you have a multi meter, what is your level of understanding for electronics?

THERE IS MAINS INSIDE THE CONTROL PANEL ISOLATE THE CONTROL PANEL MAINS BEFORE OPENING IT.

If I open the control panel box to see what wires are attached will the alarm go off? I assume it will. How do I stop that?
Thanka

Are the terminals on the magnetic block a standard?
I may be able to work it out if so
The silver pair are the contact pair you need for your door, the 3x brassy ones are for anything else, just cable connections, they are just for connections, don't 'do' anything.

On opening the panel, a tamper alarm will be caused, noisy, just enter your code - with the lid open, it'll stop. When you have done, close the lid and enter your code again.

DON'T FORGET THE MAINS ELECTRICKERY.

I got the contact working using this image and your help.

However, when i set the alarm, go out, come in, dont put the pin in the alarm goes off as expected however the OUTSIDE alarm does NOT, only the internal.

The other week we pulled the fuse out from our fuse box and the alarm went off inside and out, so its connected.

Any ideas?

I'd suggest you are not waiting until the full entry time has elapsed.

Start a stop watch when you open the door to enter, note the time when the entry sounder starts, at the end of 20secs (example) the tone will change, wait another 20secs (example) then the outside will start.

The above is 'two-ply' entry times, quite normal. The tone change without the outside sounder going off is to act as a reminder to turn it off and not answer the ringing phone etc. Get the idea?

Give it a go.
