Silicone or mastic - uPVC frames?

Should silicone always be used sealing the outer of uPVC frames to brickwork, or do people use mastic too?

Silicone every time, always use low modulus neutral curing silicone, mastic is a generic term used to describe (usually) cheap builders quality mastic with very little elasticity that will invariably crack in a short time and not bond with the UPC

I agree with the previous poster. Definitely use a decent quality sealant for exterior jobs.

When it needs to be painted.

And if you don't mind redoing it in 10 years time when it cracks
