Hi guys
I need to run a small 2" / 50mm band of mosaic tiles around a bathroom at mid wall height.
They're only 7mm thick vs 10mm for the surrounding tiles and after a few unsuccessful attempts trying to 'pad' them out with adhesive, I'm going to need to stick some 3mm MDF strip into the gap before I tile so that everything lines / levels up.
Quick question :
can I use standard tile adhesive for the mosaics directly onto MDF or am I better off using something stronger such as the Evo Grip that I'll be using to attache the MDF to the plaster ?
Many thanks

Why don't you use 3mm plywood?
It's not good practise to apply tiles to MDF.
If you do, you will need to contact the adhesive manufacturers, for their recommendations on priming for their adhesive or you could encounter problems.

Thanks.
I looked on B&Q's web site but couldn't see any plywood as thin as 3mm, only hardboard.
I'll see if I can see any 'in store'and get it if I can.
Other than that, sounds like I should use Evo Grip rather than tile adhesive.
Thanks again

You could also as above dog tooth (render rebate to correct depth for taking the thinner tiles)

google "dog tooth tiling method"
