Looking for help or explanation as to why my Potterton Prima boiler has recently developed an annoying noise /vibration when it initially starts up. Bit concerned as to this being a sign of danger due to wear and tear and the problems this could lead to. Any help or advice welcomed.

Best wishs from,

Gibson.

Anybody help on this problem. As I said, bit worried in case it's an early warning of things to come. Thanks in anticipation.

Best wishes from,

Gibson.

Hi its probably one of two things. Firstly you could have a dodgy fan that is vibrating as it reaches speed. secondly you could have some buffeting where the gas air mixture is having problems in ignition. There are many reasons why this could be the cause.Normally it is not very dangerous but i would say that to have it looked at ASAP would be a wise move.

If its waht I think it is then not something you can correct yourself , you need an experienced engineer with a flue gas analyser to sort this out shouldnt be too expensive it just needs adjusted but not a task for a DIYr

Can't see what use a FGA will be on a Potty Prima, with it's ATMOSPHERIC BURNER???? however if a poster is concerned about safety he/she should not be wasting time posting on here, they should be phoning the ESP on 0800 111999 !!!
