Henry, courtesy Homebase, is available for just under the ton....picked up one for £80 recently. A fabulous, dry pick up only machine.
John :)

I'll second the Henry, even though it's only for dry waste. We use them here in the Mould Room where radiotherapy head shells get made. They have to contend with plaster dust, plastic swarf, general muck, you name it. They get a hard life but they just keep going.

I've got one at home too and, ever since it arrived, the big, heavy, grossly overpriced Dyson 7 has rarely left the cupboard. Henry just does the lot - and I really like the way the mains flex winds into the lid. :D :D :D

Third vote for Henry. Bought one for our house renovation and it has coped admirably over the last 12 months. Its had a lot of fine plaster and brick dust thrown at it also and its still happy. Filter need regularly clearing but thats to be expect. Also paid £80 from homebase.

4th vote for henry, we use them for hoovering up loads of crap, general dirt, saw dust, plaster, decorating muck, rust chippings you name it henry does it - other than water obviously

Lidls parkside jobbie, all the accessories, 3m hose, wet n dry, power tool take-off, stainless canister, blow function, 3 yr warranty, less than 60 notes!

Just remember to clean the filter every time you empty it.
Only downside is they only come in stock 3-4 times a year.

Another vote for henry. Mine gets worked hard especially vacking up fine dust, but just keeps going and going.

If you use hepa bags insde it keeps the filter and innards dust free and will help him live even longer. You can pick the bags up for 20p each on ebay.

And another henry fan here.
I have had my first one for many many years (10-15 at least) of on site life, and my second for home use. Also, most of the offices I have worked in have them for the cleaners. Only ever had one problem when I broke the switch - it cost me about a fiver to replace it...!

i have a henry very good, however i have a kartcher wet/dry which iam really impressed with makes the henry suction look weak, brought it from screwfix last week £49 reduced from 90, bargin highly recomended

danny just had a look on the screwfix site about the karcher, reading the reviews its either loved or hated.
i have a henry at home and i rate it. i want a machine for working and i like the wickes but the lad i team up with has the lidl and i have to say im tempted to get one plus there in lidls this week
