Hi all,

The central locking on my 106 has just packed in.

When you unlock the drivers door, the tailgate unlocks also, but no other doors (5 door model),

When you lock the drivers door, nothing else locks (so you have to lock the tailgate each time you leave the car)

It's the same whether you use the key or the lock on the inside of the door.

Any ideas? I'm assuming something has come adrift inside the drivers door.

Cheers

Cartboy, I have a similar problem with my 106 except that the boot unlocks when I operate the starter! Not very convenient!

None of the other doors lock or unlock BUT the pass door actuator is activated all the time thus discharging the battery although it does not actually do any locking or unlocking!

How did you resolve your problem?

Did you find out where the door locking central unit is located?

Tony

It turned out to be a broken wire in the door.
I never got round to mending it.
The head gasket went for the 2nd time and the car's long gone!

Sounds an interesting problem, and very different to mine. Good luck!

My car has got one stage worse now!

The sidelights blow their fuse! Just leaves the O/S rear working!

Not that easy to identify if there is no problem with NS rear !

You never found where the locking controller was fitted?

Or how to remove the glove compartment to better get at the fuses?

Tony

The three sidelights blowing the fuse were caused by a faulty two filiament bulb.

Not tested it yet but seems to have an internal fault.

But thats probably my fault for forcing it into the socket the wrong way round!

Now trying out some of these cheap Chinese LED lamps.

Ones at front with wire ends ( 520 ) look nice and quite bright.

Rear lights with 5-LEDs are not quite as bright as the filiament ones they replaced.

Soon I will fit the dual filiament LED units and see how they fare!
