Hi all,

I've just drilled a hold in the wall beside my front door and the Scantronics 9851 system is now complaining about a tamper on Z01 (though I drilled at a diagonal so I would have assumed the cables would run horizontally from the door contacts....)

Anyhow I don't have an Engineer code and unfortunately I don't know who installed the system in the first place. I just want to disable the zone with the door for now (I rarely use my alarm).

The unit comes up disable zone but then it shows 01X which I'm assuming means I can't disable the zone.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thx,
Peter

Without entering engineers mode you cannot isolate/disable this zone.

Since this is the front door contact this will start the entry timer, which will also inhibit any other sensors on the entry route to the keypad.

Since you say you don't use the alarm, you don't need to do anything to it, the tamper you will have silenced when you typed your pin in. The only way this will start again is if you rejoin the cables and then disconnect them again.

You could disconnect the cable and either use a link or resistor (depends on what system has been used) to isolate that zone but you won't have an entry /exit route any longer.

The choice is yours.
