Hello

I've installed my 2nd veritas excel recently in my new home and hope somebody can assist me.

When the mains power fails you get the audible chirp for mains lo, this didn't do this on my old telecom veritas excel and would just indicate on the control panel. Is there a way of switching it off or a bit I'm not reading correctly in the installation manual?

It didn't chime on the old one when power was out so I assume it's something I've done.

Newborn in the house and help to keep him quiet would be appreciated.

Cheers :D

Hi,

I personally cannot give a definitive answer, there are engineers on the site who undoubtedly can. You can do without that chirp for the baby's sake, but how often do you have a powercut, is it a weekly or daily occurence ? There must be something in the programming which could silelnce it, but I don't have that panel's details in front of me at the moment. If this noise is coming through an extension speaker or for that matter through a speaker in the control panel, then I can show you an easy way to cut it off as and when. I'll leave it at that for now and wait for engineers who are more qualified in dealing with this panel. Should you wish to come back to me for some old fashioned methods then please do so. I'll watch your post anyway to see how you're getting on. By the way, Well done on installing the system, give yourself a pat on the back.

I also couldn't see anything in the manual to stop this, many panels you can't as it's a EN requirement, hence your old panel didn't do it.
