Hi there can anyone help with this problem.
The radiations are allways on even when I select just water on the selector
Switch on the front of the boiler.
The rads cool down when I run the hot water and the diverter seems
To be working fine the pins seem to be moving freely.

Reckon the DHW microswitch. They fail on, mostly. The boiler is constantly thinking there's a HW demand but, without a hot tap being open to move across the diverter, the heated primary water goes round the rads, at full gas rate, no less. It's the microswitch at the front, the one that the pin hits when you turn on a hot tap. It should make a click when activated but I think you'll find it doesnt. Part's about £25, iirc.

Hi there as soon as the boiler is switched on to eather hot water
Or heating and hot water the pin Comes out and makes a contact with the
Switch that makes the heating fire up. Eddie

You mean the pump starts up and the top pin comes out, i take it? Same as, see above. It's the switch on the front at fault.

Hi there yeah the top pin comes up
And the boiler fires up. Eddie

Thanks Geegas
You were spot on changed the micro switch
On the front and everything working fine.
Cheers Eddie.

You sound surprised!

There are some boiler engineers who know what they are doing!

Hi there wondered if you could give me some help , got a baxi echo 80 combi and I am having problems with it , I have no ignition lights on the front of the boiler but have the power light . I have changed pcb board as was told this could be a problem , but still not getting any light , iv pressed the micro switch on the heat sensor pipe but still don't seem to have any lights , boiler is running through sequence but isn't firing , could u please help me , cheers Lewis.

Who told you to change the PCB ?

As it did not cure the fault is he now going to refund the £100 or so that you paid for it?

Or did you call out an engineer to try to get a free diagnosis so you could just fix it yourself?

Tony

you will have to start your own post, you have just hi-jacked a post for the same boiler with a completely different fault

Hi tony it was a friend of mine who use to be in this game who told me about the pcv board this is the second time I have replaced the pcb board , as I got a replacement I installed it and the boiler worked but it has since gone back down so got in touch with the company who supplied it , and he sent me another one out , I have installed that but still not getting any ignition lights so no not sure if it was the pcb board or not or weather there is still a fault on the new replacement one .

I am somewhat confused but think that it is not proceeding to the ignition stage and you have changed the PCB and there is still the same fault.

Is the pump starting and operating the pump proving switch?

Tony
