I have a conservatory to the rear of my house that requires new beading strips due to a failed brake in. as the conservatory was already on the house when we moved in i do not know of any age or brand, there are no markings around the frame.

i have uploaded photos
if anyone can help me source a replacement i would be very grateful.

What is actually wrong with the beads? If its just prize marks then you can gently heat the pvc with a heat gun and the dents will pop out themselves, you can even do this to any marks on the frame

no they have had a screwdriver stuck through the outside face and ripped all the way along 4 beads, (not reusable, this peace photoed has been removed to get a sample for the right part.) would a photo of the fame be better to identyfy?

I suggested the repair because they're old bead and i'd say pretty much obsolete now, i haven't a clue what system it is so have no starting point, may i ask if your planning on claiming on your buildings insurance for the break in?

no as there was nothing taken just damaged to beading, and the other strip is NOT repairable, as i said in my last post the strip in the pic is one i have removed, not damaged, other damaged ones are in about 10 pieces.

I think your onto a loser if you plan on tracking beads down, you really need to know the make of the extrusion, even then after contacting them you might find they have no old stock left.

I know its easy said as its not my money but you'd be better off replacing the whole window, at least it'll be internally beaded this time and probably better locking, whose to say the scumbags won't come back and trash your replacement beads.....IF you happened to find any?

its a 8 foot conservatory tho not just a window, found a place that said theirs would fit but would need a bit cutting of the new beading £4 for 2m bargain will try at weekend :D (i like modding stuff)

There really isn't any way of getting replacements for these as they will have stopped making that window system a long time ago as I can tell it is way over 15-20 years old. Especially seeing as it is externally glazed.

I would just try to bodge the damaged bead until you get round to replacing the window.

Just a update i went to get the beading from Jaybees in Cannock and it fitted better that the orgianal stuff and they said if it fits i can have it for free even better

Hi, do you know what the bead profile was? I was taking the glass off on my externally beaded upvc window and i had to hack off one side as the bead wasn't too easy to remove. In the end it was probably because I forgot to take the gasket off from inside. Please let me know.

Could you please answer my query when you have a moment ?

You have replied to a thread 9 years old ... nothing to say the user is still even active I'm afraid ( and No I have no Idea what the bead is! )
